Cars in German Town Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Authorities reported they were alerted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Roughly fifty cars have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Law enforcement state they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then discovered numerous other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials state initial examinations indicate the fluid was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; investigators are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they added.

Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.

An important representative commented the incident made him without words and required to be addressed quickly.

"This act affects the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at individuals of migrant background in 2020.
