Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to water supplies, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.

He said that 450 drones and several dozen missiles attacked energy facilities, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the city came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The assaults succeed evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
